Body positivity is a topic that touches my heart.
I used to be called fat and bullied when I was a kid. That started an endless cycle of me stressing over my weight losing weight and gaining weight again. Throughout my entire teenage, I’ve been on diet. I’ve been working out and I have lost pounds. But that is not enough.
I remembered how delighted I was when I received compliments about my look. But when one person called my fat, my confidence tumbled down. And that’s when I started to realize my body isn’t really the problem – my mind is.
One thing I’ve learned throughout the years of struggling over my body image – you will never win the battle against your own body. Your body is a reflection of how you treat yourself. When you hate your body, it shows in the way you feel and look. And no external approvals would worth the physical and mental sufferings.
The dose that will put all this to an end? Self-love and self-acceptance. They are the driving force and the right reasons to eat healthy, exercise, and build a healthy lifestyle.
