Marisa Peer’s RTT Program Review, Is It Worth It?

What is Rapid Transformational Therapy? And how does it work? Here’s an honest review of Marisa Peer’s RTT program on Mindvalley.

When I first heard my friend talking about hypnotherapy, I was skeptical. After all, it was only for mental illness treatment, right?

It turns out that it has a much broader usage than I expected.

As one of the best hypnotherapy, RTT, or Rapid Transformational Therapy, has gained worldwide popularity. How does it work? Is it worth it? After taking the online quest on Mindvalley, this is my honest review of Marisa Peer’s RTT program.

Who is Marisa Peer?

Marisa Peer is a leading British therapist and a best-selling author. She created RTT, short for Rapid Transformational Therapy. It’s a system that integrates multiple systems like hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and neuroscience. Her clients include top-notch CEOs, Olympians, celebrities, and also therapists worldwide.

I first learned about Marisa Peer through her Ted Talk about pushing limitations. In the speech, she mentioned four steps that will help to rewire the brain and go beyond limits. That talk was short and helpful. And that’s why when I first saw her name on a Mindvalley quest, I knew I had to join it.

What is Rapid Transformative Therapy?

RTT is a form of hypnotherapy. But instead of focusing on hypnosis, it guides you to identify the issue, break limiting beliefs, and rewire the brain. So even when you are not with a hypnotherapist, you can have a nurturing dialogue with yourself.

We don’t know what we don’t know. And sometimes we are not aware of our negative self-talks. Each chapter of the course begins with identifying your limiting thoughts. Then it takes you to the cause of it and guide you to change the narrative step by step.

It will help you break your mental blocks and welcome abundance in wealth, health, relationships, and other aspects of life.

Who is this course for?

RTT courses are not just for therapists but also for everyday people like you and me. I, for example, enrolled in the Mindvalley RTT quest because I felt stuck.

Being raised in a single-parent family, I was always less confident and more insecure than my peers. Because of my troubling history with my father, I came into every relationship looking for approval. It’s hard to love yourself when you don’t know how, and I turned to the program for guidance. And honestly, I didn’t know what to expect when I first joined. But now, after completing the course, I have found my answer.

The second part is the workbook and audio. The workbook is a blueprint you can follow along throughout the course. The audios are key to the program and what RTT is all about.

The guided hypnosis recorded by Marisa Peer can be broken into two categories. The first is called Regression hypnosis. Marisa walks you through the different aspects of your life to locate your mindset blocks in the recordings. She then guides you to find the root cause of those sabotaging thoughts and helps you face them.

The second type is Rewiring hypnosis. These recordings are designed to replace a limiting belief with an abundance belief.

For example, if you find your panic attack came from an unsuccessful public speech three years ago, these audios are there to help interrupt the connection and restore a positive one.

And unlike most online courses, which you never go back to once finished, every rewiring audio should be repeated in 21 days with at least once per day. As Marisa Peer emphasizes multiple times in the quest, “our brains learn by repetition.” The process helps the positive beliefs to really set in for a lifetime result.

The pros – What I love about the program

I joined Marisa Peer’s RTT program not knowing what to expect. But this course has surprised me in several ways. Here are the things that I really love about the program:

  • It’s science-back

As per the official introduction, the RTT system is not just a personal creation. Instead, it includes multiple studies like cognitive behavioral therapy and neuroscience.

Because of the cross-background knowledge in the program, it doesn’t exaggerate the power of the mind. It doesn’t go like, “you do this, and you will conquer the world just by sitting in your living room.” Instead, it tells you how your mind works so you can use it to your advantage.

For example, I had a love-hate relationship with affirmations for a long time because sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. The Marisa Peer’s RTT program bursts the myths for me and points out certain things I did wrong. It clears the confusion, and now I can use those affirmations more effectively.

  • It takes away the shame

It’s easy to feel ashamed when you are not motivated enough, when you binge-eat a chocolate cake or when you fear to change.

A big part of the program is finding the cause of those limiting beliefs in human instincts and your experiences.

Knowing why you do what you do takes away self-blaming. It motivates you to work on yourself. And with the strategies the quest provides, you can break these sabotaging thoughts and turn them into confidence, faith and motivation.

  • It’s well-structured

I have taken some online courses before. And one thing that makes good ones stand out is the structure.

The course is divided into two parts: the video instructions and the resources.

The videos break down the entire RTT therapy into four categories: mindset, health, wealth, and relationship. The audio resources also contain regression and rewiring ones.

The clear categorization makes it easier for students to digest the information. And you also have a clear idea of where you are at in the program.

  • It’s affordable

When I researched online, someone said that an RTT therapist in Canada quoted him $1200 for a two-hour session. And let’s be honest, that’s not very affordable for the general public.

This section turns out to be extremely helpful, as it covers a broader range of topics like the influence of family, shame, and so on. And Marisa also shares examples of herself and her clients. And I am not going to lie; knowing others have the same problems as I do is kind of relieving.

You can also post your questions or thoughts in the community section. The members are super supportive and helpful. They share thoughts and advice to help each other grow.

The cons

As helpful as the course is, there are certain things I think it can do better.

  • The length of the course

The course has 35 episodes. It means that if you take one lesson each day without missing a day, you will need more than a month to finish the project.

For people that don’t have much time each day, limiting each lesson to 20 minutes seems ideal. But it can also affect the completion rate of the course.

Suggestions:

If you are like me, who has more than 20 minutes a day and wants fast results, you can take multiple lessons per day. 3 is the perfect number for me. And above that, the information could be too much to digest in a day.

But after all, consistency is king. So do what makes sense to you. And even when you take one day off, don’t be discouraged. Just go back to it the next day.

  • Destructive vs. Constructive criticism

There’s a lesson in the Mindvalley RTT course about handling destructive criticism. But I wish there could be more guidelines on how to identify the bad ones out of the good ones.

After all, other people can see from a third-person perspective. And sometimes, we need constructive criticism to grow and improve ourselves.

Suggestions:

If you have issues dealing with criticism in general, this article may help to tell whether someone is giving you advice with good intention or not. And with the strategies in the quest, you can handle both properly.

A few final suggestions

After reading this Marisa Peer’s RTT program review, if you join the program, here are some tips to benefit more from the course.

  • Track your RTT progress

A big part of the Mindvalley Marisa Peer RTT quest is the audios. They are key to helping rewire your limiting beliefs so you can welcome prosperity. Each rewiring audio takes 21 days to repeat and set in. So it’s important to track your progress.

The course doesn’t come with a tracker. You can use your notebook, your computer or your journal to document your progress.

  • Go back to the problem area

One thing that Marisa emphasizes in this Mindvalley RTT course is repetition. It doesn’t only apply to the audios. If a lesson or a chapter hits you differently, you can go back to it again.

For me, the lesson about self-love really resonates with me. It helped me realize that I was always playing the “achiever” for my father’s attention. I carry that role into my adulthood, and it continues to influence my relationships.

I watched that lesson three times until I completely internalized every word. And each time, I had a deeper understanding and better idea of how to change the destructive relationship pattern.

So if you find a lesson particularly helpful, go back to it, watch it again, and you may learn something new.

  • Get your notebook ready

Although the course comes with a workbook, taking notes will help you to learn more from each lesson. Marisa recommends a paper notebook. But because I prefer to look up my notes now and then, I use Notion for jotting down the key points.
