6 Lists Of Mental Baggages To Make And Burn

Lists to make and remove from your mind to set yourself free

We all make lists. I’ve listed different things in my bullet journal: list of self-care activities, list of books to read, a before-30 bucket list…Lists keep our eyes on the important things.

But there are things we should remove from our heads. Things that drag us down or wear us out.

When I am doing a brain dump and writing down what’s bothering me, I realize my emotional baggage looks so much smaller on paper than in my mind. We are empowering our negative thoughts by hiding from them.

So here are some list ideas to make, and burn, and to set our mind free.

A list of not-enoughs

I struggle with self-love for a long time. I try to change myself to cater to others. But the acceptance of others doesn’t make up the self-love deficit. Remember, those who deserve your love won’t make you feel like you are hard to love.

A list of people to impress

Sometimes the urge to make others proud carries us away.

I used to want to impress others so much that I forgot to impress myself. I was not making decisions based on my needs but the expectations of others.

But in the end, you are the one that’s taking full responsibility of your life. Make the right call for you.

A list of self-blames

Putting yourself first is not selfish. You shouldn’t be blamed for making doing what’s best for you. It’s ok to walk away from someone with a red flag. It’s ok to try and fail. Pull yourself out from the false guilts and set yourself free.

A list of fake friends

A fake friendship is not always one-sided. Fake friends can be sweet every once in a while.

But that temporary kindness is not worth the energy you put in it. True friends lift you. Fake friends drag you down.

A list of what you should become

Growing up, we are told to be a million things. But what do you want to become, for yourself? Time to clear your mind from the expectations of others, and to start finding your calling.

A list of ways we should feel

As Brené Brown says, we can’t selectively numb our emotions. If we ignore the negative ones, we miss happiness as well.

I hope this list to make reminds you that you can be sad, confused, tired, and still be strong.
