Sometimes the best New Year resolution can be one word. It sets the tone of the coming year and represents your intention.
I chose “reconnection” as my word of last year as I realized the relationships I have left unattended along the way. Ironically, it was not the best time to reconnect with my friends and loved ones. But because of the promise I made myself at the beginning of the year, I found another way to make it happen.
As the pandemic broke out, I reached out to the childhood friends and asked if they were doing ok. Just by this small effort, I reconnect people I haven’t spoken to in a decade. I felt less alone amidst social distancing. And we are looking forward to hanging out again.
That’s why I am picking my word of the year for 2022 again. This one-word mantra works like magic. It holds me accountable and motivated throughout the year.
